Phuket International Airport (HKT)
Orientation and Maps

(Phuket, Thailand)

One of the most southerly areas of Thailand, the Phuket Province is the country's wealthiest and most popular island. Known for its irregular coastline and secluded sandy bay areas, Phuket is a true tropical island, with rich plantations and areas of rain forest. Previously known as 'Ko Thalang', Phuket is full of culture and features many prominent oriental and European influences.

Many people choose to fly to this appealing destination and Phuket International Airport (HKT) can be found on the northern side of the island. Visitors often arrive in Phuket to take advantage of the island's spectacular scuba diving, with the coastline being the most popular diving location in the whole of Thailand. In fact, there are more than 100 different dive shops spread around the island.

Phuket International Airport (HKT) Maps: Important City Districts

Phuket Town, the provincial capital, is home to a population of around 70,000 and features a historic old town centre, where you will find striking examples of Sino-Portuguese buildings and architecture. Many of these important buildings are now actively preserved and stand alongside modern structures and hotels.

A good selection of shops can be found in Phuket Town, with the Th Tanong day market being located close to the very heart of the town centre. Nearby, the popular Municipal market stands to the south-east, close to the Robinson Ocean Plaza.

Worth noting, during the busy high season, a number of boats run at regular intervals and connect Ton Sai Bay with many of the ports around the island.
